Floating button
A button always visible on top of any app. No context switching, no alt-tab between WMS and ERP. One tap and you're scanning.
Zebra Validated
Official Zebra Technologies certification
Turn your compatible Zebra fleet into AI scanners with no custom development: the scanned value lands directly in the active field of your ERP, WMS, browser or Android app. Works offline too.

Why Cattura
Cattura is not just a scanning app: it's a data-capture layer designed to enter production without dedicated development cycles.
Universal keyboard wedge and standard Intent broadcasts. Integrates with any ERP, WMS, or Android app in production — no additional code required.
On-device AI decodes damaged barcodes and text printed in industrial conditions. Configurable filters (regex, length, whitelist) eliminate spurious reads before they reach downstream systems.
Signed APK and StageNow profile distributable via MDM. A 200-device Zebra fleet configured within a single work shift.
All decoding runs on the terminal's Hexagon DSP. No image leaves the device. Works offline, compliant with industrial data residency policies.
Features
Cattura replaces custom DataWedge profiles, third-party SDKs and app-side integrations. A single app that turns any Zebra terminal into a universal data capture device.
A button always visible on top of any app. No context switching, no alt-tab between WMS and ERP. One tap and you're scanning.
The scanned value is injected as key events into the active field, followed by Enter. Works with any app: ERP, browser, terminal server, Citrix.
For native Android apps: results are also posted as Intent broadcasts with every field structured (value, symbology, confidence, timestamp). Clean integration via BroadcastReceiver, no keyboard dependency.
Decoding runs on the Hexagon DSP (Qualcomm Snapdragon). No image leaves the terminal. Sub-100ms latency even on damaged, tilted or partially occluded barcodes.
Cattura also reads printed text: batch numbers, serials, expiry dates. Filters for length, regex, allowed characters.
Automatic, manual or accumulate: scan multiple codes in one pass and submit them all at once. Perfect for multi-line picking.
The scanner service restarts automatically when the terminal reboots. Operators don't have to re-open anything manually.
Code128, EAN/UPC, QR Code, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec, GS1, postal codes. Inverse 1D mode, marginless decoding and per-symbology quality thresholds.
Deploy via standard MDM (SOTI, VMware Workspace ONE, Ivanti Avalanche). Automatic provisioning via EMDK or StageNow profile. A 500-device fleet configured in a few hours.
7-day demo auto-activated on first launch, no device registration. Migration to commercial license via server-side activation: no reinstall, no operational interruption.
How it works
No backend to configure, no integration with your line-of-business app. Cattura works with any input field.
Via MDM, adb install, or file manager. The APK is signed with Suntech's certificate for EMDK authorization.
The .bin file authorizes keyboard simulation system-wide. Persistent across reboots, MDM-ready.
Camera and "draw over other apps" on first launch. 7-day demo activated automatically.
Open your ERP or browser, tap the yellow floating button, aim at the code. The value lands in the active field + Enter.
Compatibility
Cattura requires a Zebra terminal with a Hexagon DSP to accelerate the AI DataCapture SDK engine. Supports the whole enterprise line on QCM6490, QCM5430 and QCM6690 chipsets. The app auto-detects incompatibility and warns the user.

Use cases
Picking, inventory, goods receiving. Scan SSCC, GS1, DataMatrix straight into the WMS.
Batch and serial traceability on production lines. OCR of labels printed on components.
Shelf inventory, returns management, price checks. Compatible with POS and web-based back-office.
Medication administration, patient wristbands, sample tracking. No data leaves the device.
Licensing
Every terminal starts with a 7-day demo, activated automatically on first launch — no signup required.

Same app across all 3 tiers. When the demo expires, the commercial license activates server-side — no reinstall, no operational interruption.
FAQ
No. Cattura emulates a physical keyboard: the scanned value is injected as key events into the active input field, followed by Enter. It works with any application — web, native Android, remote terminal — with no changes at all.
No. Cattura requires the Zebra AI DataCapture SDK with Hexagon DSP, available on: TC501, TC701, TC53, TC58, TC73, TC78, ET60, ET65, ET401, EM45. Legacy Zebra devices without DSP (TC22, TC21, MC93), the "e" models with QCM4490 chipset (TC53e, TC58e, MC9400, MC9450) and consumer smartphones are not supported.
No. The entire decoding and OCR pipeline runs on-device, on the terminal's Hexagon DSP. The only network traffic is toward the Suntech license server for initial validation and demo renewal — no scanned content is transmitted.
Through MDM. The signed APK and the StageNow profile are bundled in the enrollment profile of your MDM (SOTI MobiControl, VMware Workspace ONE, SureMDM, Ivanti Avalanche and similar). Alternatively, auto-provisioning via EMDK. The admin setup guide ships with the demo kit.
All major 1D symbologies (Code128, Code39, EAN-13/8, UPC-A/E, Interleaved 2 of 5, GS1-128) and 2D (QR Code, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec, MaxiCode). Postal codes included (USPS, Canada Post, Japan Post), plus advanced decoding modes for inverse 1D, marginless codes and poor-quality prints.
Cattura does free-text OCR (lots, serials, expiry dates) and unifies barcode + OCR in a single gesture; Zebra OCR Wedge uses predefined templates (VIN, plates, containers, documents) with a separate barcode flow. Different tools for different needs — they often coexist on the same fleet.
